Easy TMNT Nail Art

Here is the 3rd nail art tutorial for today as promised!

My 5 year old daughter is currently all about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, she was even Leonardo for Halloween. She also has a habit of chewing on her nails but if they are painted sometimes she won't chew on them--this design lasted her a WEEK! That is a record in my household, normally it is gone by the end of the day! This design is quick (have you ever tried to paint a child's nails? omg. lol) and simple!

Difficulty: Easy

TOOLS:
1.Green polish- I used NYC in High Line Green
               2. Red polish- I used NYC in Columbus Circle Crimson
               3. Blue polish- I used Pure Ice in French Kiss
               4. Purple polish- I used SH striper in Purple Violet
               5. Orange polish- I used Sinful Colors in Cloud 9
               6. White polish- I used Sinful Colors in Snow Me White
               7. Black polish- I used Salon Perfect in Black Ink
               8. Clear Glitter polish- I used Milani in Diamond Dazzle
               9. Dotting tool/toothpick

STEPS:

1. Start off by painting all of your nails with the green nail polish. Allow to try.

2. Next on all of your fingers but your ring finger, Using the RED, BLUE, PURPLE, and ORANGE draw a thick stripe across your nails to represent each mask. (one color per nail) On your ring finger put a layer or two of the glitter nail polish over the green to add some sparkle.

3. Once the masks are dry- grab your white nail polish and dotting tool and add 2 white dots to each mask for the eyes. Allow to dry completely.

4. Now using a smaller dotting tool or toothpick add small black dots for the pupils on the white eyes.  Add a top coat when everything is dry and go find some bad guys!

My daughter absolutely loved this manicure, she would show everyone she came across! :)

Fun and Function Weighted Sash Review

As you may or may not know I have a 5 year old daughter who has Autism as well as Sensory Processing Disorder or SPD. If you do not know what SPD is please click here to find out more. I was very pleased with the Fun and Function Sash. It came with 1 & 1/2 lbs of weight to add to the sash in 1/2lb bags. I got it for my daughter to try because I have heard great things about weighted products with children on the spectrum. It is made very well and can be used to carry lots of things with all of the pockets! If anyone knows my daughter they know she always has at LEAST a handful of small toys with her at all times, so the zippered pouches are very handy!! The fact that the sash has the reflector strips around the edges and at the hips is an added bonus! It is easy to wear and my daughter really liked it. I would defiantly recommend the Fun and Function Weighted Sash to everyone! I think it is a wonderful and multifunctional product. #FunAndFunction Go check out their website! www.FunAndFunction.com They have SO many neat tools to help!!
Product Description: Fun and Function has created this comfortable weighted sash known for its calming sensory input, + cool compartments for stashing favorite objects + safety features. The Ergo Weighted Sash positions weight from shoulder to hip as well as across and down through the trunk, providing just-right deep pressure to help you calm and organize. Provides the benefits of a weighted vest with the flexible styling and comfort of a sash. Made of mesh material with 6 zippered compartments that can hold pens, fidgets, money, keys or the weights. Sleek reflector strips around the edges and at the hips completes the multi-tasking abilities of this incredible wearable wonder! Improve attention and reduce fidgeting with one sash or wear two sashes (criss-crossed) if recommended by child's therapist. One size fits all. Crafted by Fun and Function. Patented. Ages 8- Adult. http://funandfunction.com/1-1-2lb-ergo-weighted-sash.html I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Kid-Approved Banana Pancakes!

So I decided to try a recipe this time. Don't worry I have nail tutorials on the way..but I wanted to try something different and see what you all thought! I found a 3 ingredient recipe for pancakes on Pinterest a while back and decided to try it out for my daughter and my nephew. The recipe called for 2 eggs, 1 banana, and a dash of cinnamon. Well let's just say they were not a fan of it. So I decided to add a few other ingredients and now they can't get enough!

The step-by-step directions are down below!

Ingredients:     1 egg
                      2 bananas
                     Cinnamon
                     Pancake Syrup
                     Vanilla Extract

Tools You will use:       mixing bowl
                                    small bowl
                                    whisk
                                    potato masher
                                   spoon
                                   skillet
                                   spatula

From start to finish this usually only takes me about 10 minutes!

Directions:

1. Mash the 2 bananas in your mixing bowl until it is creamy. Next add about a tablespoon of pancake syrup to the bananas and stir it up.

2. Now get your spoon and your small bowl and take 2-3 tsp of the banana and syrup mixture and set aside. This will be your topping!

3. Back to your mixing bowl. Add 1 egg, a dash of cinnamon, and a few drop of vanilla extract together.

4. Whisk together until it is well blended. Pour into your skillet like you would pancakes and cook on med-low heat. I normally make about 6-7 mini-pancakes. When both sides are a golden brown they are done! Add topping and enjoy!

Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas to make this even better!
