Simple Sparkle Manicure

I bought 2 new nail polishes recently to add to my collection NYC Precious Peacock and Orchid Teal Me A Secret. I fell in love with these colors as soon as I saw them and wanted to do a simple manicure to showcase the gorgeous colors. This manicure is simple and who doesn't love a little sparkle? ;)

Difficulty: Easy

Tools:
          1. Emerald polish- I used NYC Precious Peacock
          2. Teal Polish- I used Orchid Teal Me A Secret
          3. Clear Top Coat- I used NYC Long Wearing in 271 Extra Shiny Top Coat
          4. Loose glitter- I used a light blue in a diamond shape- but yellow, clear, green, just about any color would look good!
          5. toothpick to pick up the glitter and position it

STEPS:

1.Begin by painting your Thumb, Ring Finger, and Pinky with the TEAL polish.
Now using the EMERALD paint your Index Finger and Middle Finger.
*in the #1 picture this is only after ONE coat. If you need to after the polish is dry add another coat or 2 or 3 (like I did for the NYC polish)haha... until the polish isn't opaque*

2. Now add a clear coat on one nail at a time and using the toothpick dip the tip in the clear top coat and pick up a single piece of glitter and make a line of glitter going down the center of your nail-starting at the base of the nail and only going to the center. When your toothpick won't pick up the glitter simply dip it into the top coat again. I decided to make 3 lines of glitter on each nail ( one in the middle and one line on each side) The glitter I used was diamond shaped so I used 3 pieces of glitter for each line. Repeat on all nails.
When you are done add a top coat and you are done!

I really like how the glitter shines in the sunlight but is not too much to take away from the beautiful nail polish itself.  I hope you enjoy this simple tutorial!

EASY DiY Leopard Print Mani/Pedi

Hello! It has been a while since I have posted a nail art tutorial and I promised this one a few weeks ago (sorry!!), so today you are in for a treat! I will have not 1 but 3 NEW easy DiY Nail Art Tutorials!! The 1st one is for all you leopard animal print lovers... This look is simple and classic. It's neutral so it will go with anything and not to mention it's adorable! :) Enjoy!

As always if you have any suggestions leave me a comment!

Difficulty: Easy

Tools:
1.Black striper polish- I used Salon Perfect in Black Ink
             2. Nude polish- I used OPI in Infatuation
             3. White polish- I used Sinful Colors in Snow Me White
             4. Brown polish- I used Sinful Colors in Nirvana
             5. Shimmery nude/Bronze polish- I used OPI in Cozu-Melted in the Sun
             6. Dotting tool/toothpick
             7. Clear Top Coat

STEPS:

1. Begin by painting all of your nails with the nude nail polish and allow to dry completely. Next using the white nail polish paint the tips of your nails white (like a french manicure). It is okay if your lines aren't completely straight, we can cover the imperfections with the leopard print! ;)

2. Now the fun part! Using your dotting tool and Brown polish--begin making small ovals/circles of all sizes on the tips of your nails.  All leopard spots are different, so have fun with it! Once the brown is dry go over some of the brown dots with the shimmery nude/bronze polish to give it a more 3-D look.

3. Grab the black striper and begin making circles, "C" shapes, and brackets [ ] around the spots. Don't forget to add a few random black spots in between the brown spots as filler.

When the polish is dry add your clear top coat and TADA!!!! You are done! That wasn't so hard was it??   In the last picture you can see I did a matching Leopard Print Pedicure. I did the same concept but I decided to be a little flashier on the big toes by making the leopard print design go across the toe, then added some loose black nail gems as some of the spots for some extra bling!

Bloody Nail Art Design

Hello October!!!! You know what this means? Halloween will be here before we know it! YAY!!

So let's learn some spooky nail art! I have seen this design many times but had never tried it! Today's tutorial is a bloody design you are sure to enjoy!

This design is very simple! You only need a few things and a little bit of free time :)

Step by step instructions are down below.

Difficulty: Easy
Tools you will need:   1. Dark red nail polish-i used Sinful Colors in GoGo Girl
                                         2. Nude nail polish-I used Sinful Colors in Easy Going
                                         3. Matte Top Coat- i used NYC Matte Me Crazy
                                         4. a dotting tool or a bobby pin/toothpick etc..

Steps:

1. Paint all of your nails with the nude nail polish. Mine needed 2 coats. Allow to try and add the clear Matte top coat over the nude polish and wait until it is dry. *this will give a cool effect because the nude background will be matte and the red will be shiny*

2.Using your dark red nail polish paint a straight light across the tips of your nails. It doesn't have to be perfect-just make sure it is dark enough, mine needed to coats.

3. Using your dotting tool and the dark red nail polish place a few dots above the red line you painted and drag the dotting tool to connect the "drip" to your line. I found that dipping the dotting tool twice in my red nail polish and then dotting my nail with it made a good "drip". Continue this on all of your nails--unless you want fang marks..

4.I decided to add some fang marks to one of the ring fingers to add something a little different. Using the dotting tool I placed 2 dots side by side to resemble fang marks and used the dotting tool to add some drips of blood going away from them.

Done! Now that wasn't hard was it?!

Difficulty: Easy
Tools you will need:    1. White nail polish-i used Petites in French White
                                     2. Clear top coat- I used NYC Long Wearing Extra Shiny Top
                                     3. Silver Glitter nail polish-i used NYC Starry Silver Glitter
                                     4. Blue nail polish-i used Pure Ice in French Kiss
                                     5. Silver nail polish- i used L.A. Colors Silver
                                     6. Green nail polish- i used Revlon in Posh
                                     7. Brown nail polish-i didn't have this so I mixed together a red, orange,      and yellow nail polish to make the brown.
                                     8. Yellow nail polish- I used SH Sugar Coat in Sweetie
                                     9. A toothpick for line work

Steps:

1.Paint your thumb and middle finger Silver, your index fingers blue, ring fingers brown, and pinky fingers green. Allow to dry completely.

2-3.Thumbs- use your toothpick (using your blue nail polish) and slowly draw a star in the center of your nail. Be sure to fill it in.
Index fingers- use your silver nail polish to paint a slanted silver tip at the end of your BLUE nail. You want your index fingers to be half blue and half silver.
Middle fingers- use your blue nail polish to paint a slanted blue tip at the end of your SILVER nail. You want your index fingers to be half silver and half blue.
Ring fingers- using the toothpick draw a line down the center of your nail with white nail polish. Now draw small lines across the center line so that it looks like the laces/stitching on a football.
RIGHT PINKY-using the toothpick and white nail polish start on the outside edge of your finger and draw a long line (almost all the way across) and shorter lines in between..until you go all the way down the side. You want it to resemble the football field goal lines.
LEFT PINKY- use the toothpick and yellow nail polish to draw a field goal post in the center of your finger.

After everything is dry I went back and added the silver glitter nail polish over the thumbs, and anywhere there was silver to make it pop. After that add your clear top coat and VIOLA! You are done!   I hope you enjoyed these designs. :)

Butterfly Nail Art

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a fantastic weekend! I decided to try something I had seen on Pinterest a while back...A butterfly design.

Step by step instructions are down below.

Hope you enjoy!

Difficulty: Medium
Tools you will need: 1. White nail polish-i used Petites in French White
                                     2. Black nail polish-I used Jordana in Black
3.Orange nail polish-I used Sinful Colors in Cloud 9
4.Clear top coat- I used NYC Long Wearing Extra Shiny Top Coat
                              5. Dotting tool and/or toothpick

Here we go!

1. Paint all of your nails white! Mine needed 2 coats. Allow it to dry completely.*Did you know if your nail polish is taking forever to dry, you can get a bowl of cold water & add a few ice cubes to it--dip your nails in and it will speed up the drying process!!*

When it's dry move to step # 2!

2. Now leave your big toes white and paint the rest orange!

3. While the orange toes are drying let's get started with the butterfly wings on your big toes. Begin by painting a sideways shaped V on your RIGHT big toe and a backwards-sideways V on your left big toe. Does that make any sense? Look at my pictures for reference.. You want them to mirror each other like butterfly wings when you put your big toes side by side. Now make them less V shaped and add some more orange little by little to make them look more like wings. Let them dry!!

4. Now it's time to outline the wings! Put a dollop of black nail polish on a paper plate or something you don't mind throwing away and grab your toothpick--dip it in the black nail polish and begin by dotting/slowly dragging around the outline of the orange wings.

5. Detailing your wings.. Use your toothpick to draw a few squiggly/vein lines coming out from the inner side of your nail (inner wing) to make them look more realistic. I decided to add some white dots using my toothpick around the edges of my wings to make them pop. Now we are done with the wings!

6. I decided to add a small flower to my fourth toe using a small dotting tool dipped in white nail polish. Add 5 dots in a flower shape and allow to dry.

7. Now using your orange nail polish take your dotting tool and place 5 dots almost on top of but not covering the white dots you did for step #6 to make a 2-tone flower. *Optional* I then decided to add a small black rhinestone for the center of the flower. Now just put a clear coat on your nails and you are DONE!

Disco Zebra Manicure

Since the Watercolor Zebra Print Manicure was such a hit, I decided to show you a different take on zebra print with *drumroll please*...The Disco Zebra Manicure!

This design is colorful, simple, and quick!

Step by step instructions are down below!

Difficulty: Easy
Tools you will need:     1.Purple nail polish--I used Sinful Colors in Amethyst
2.Silver striper nail polish (or regular silver polish and a toothpick!)- I used L.A. Colors Striper in Silver
3.Glitter nail polish- I used Milani in Diamond Dazzle
4.Clear top coat- I used NYC Extra Shiny Top Coat

Here we go!

1. Paint your thumb, index finger, ring finger, and pinky purple. Now paint your middle finger silver. Wait until it is dry then let's start striping!

2. I decided to put zebra stripes on the thumb and ring finger.  Use your silver nail striper or silver nail polish (if you do NOT have a striper you need to put a dollop of nail polish on a paper plate or something you don't mind throwing away and grab your toothpick--dip it in the nail polish....) start at the top of your nail on the left side and let the brush/toothpick lightly touch your nail. Now roll your nail towards you to make a stripe! Not all stripes are the same! Some are wavy and some are thick! It is all up to you!

3. Now you should have 1 stripe-GO YOU!!- now for the second stripe--do the same thing you just did but on the opposite side and roll your nail away from you! Keep going back and forth until you are satisfied with the amount of stripes on your nail. (i normally do 4-6 depending on the nail)

4. Now that the stripes are out of the way it's time to add some glitter! Apply a layer of glitter nail polish over the purple nail polish on your pinky and a layer over the silver nail polish on your middle finger. After your polish is dry add your clear top coat and you are done!

Now that wasn't so hard was it?!?  And your nails look fabulous I bet! :)

Watercolor Zebra Print Manicure

It's time for a new nail design!

Today I did a simple watercolor zebra print manicure, to show everyone you don't have to spend big $$ for your nails to look cute! Step by step instructions are down below!

Difficulty: Easy
Tools you will need: 1. White nail polish--I used Petites in French White (417)
                                  2. Black nail polish or a black striper--I used SH i <3 Nail Art striper in Black (310)
                                  3. Neon/Hot Pink--I used Milani Neon in Pink Hottie (507)
                                  4. Lime Green-- I used Pure Ice in Wild Thing
                                  5. Blue-- I used Pure Ice in French Kiss
                                  6. Clear Top Coat--I used NYC Long Wearing Extra Shiny Top Coat (271)
                                  7. Cosmetic Wedge/Sponge
**  If you do not have a black nail striper you will need a toothpick to draw the lines!  **

Let's get started!! Just follow the steps!

1. Paint you nails white. I needed 2 coats. *Did you know if your nail polish is taking forever to dry, you can get a bowl of cold water & add a few ice cubes to it--dip your nails in and it will speed up the drying process!!  When it's dry move to step # 2!

2-3. Paint a line of pink, green, and the blue on your cosmetic wedge/sponge and start dabbing on your nails. Don't be scared if it gets on your skin--it comes off easily with a Q-tip and some nail polish remover! It will be a transparent color like watercolors! If you think there is more of one color than another add some more to your sponge and dab away! Be careful because it DOES get darker the more polish you add!!

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to all of your fingers! Get creative and Have fun!  :)

5. Okay your nails are dry right? Now we will learn to make zebra stripes! Grab your black nail striper or black nail polish (if you do NOT have a striper you need to put a dollop of black nail polish on a paper plate or something you don't mind throwing away and grab your toothpick--dip it in the black nail polish....) start at the top of your nail on the left side and let the brush/toothpick lightly touch your nail. Now roll your nail towards you to make a stripe! Not all stripes are the same! Some are wavy and some are thick! It is all up to you!

6. Okay now for the second stripe--do the same thing you just did but on the opposite side and roll your nail away from you!

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 all the way down your finger! Don't be scared! Remember if you mess up you can always go back and tweak the lines by adding a little more black polish here and there to thicken up the lines to make it look like you meant to do that! ;)

8. Do all of your nails--or if you want you could just do the zebra print on your ring finger as an accent nail..the choice is yours!

9. After the stripes are dry add the Clear top Coat and you are DONE!  YAY!! You did it! Now that wasn't so hard was it?? You will get tons of compliments! :)
